Coordinating Health Services: WIC and Other Public Health Programs

  • ASTHO and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) worked collaboratively on a project aimed at promoting the integrated delivery of the Special Supplemental Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and other health services at the state and local levels. The aim of the project was to identify best practices for delivering coordinated WIC/public health services; summarize and promote models of state and local collaboration between WIC and public health services; increase knowledge of barriers to integrated/coordinated WIC and public health services; and develop recommendations for future integration and coordination through focus group discussion.
